In my pausing
I have held onto you
Kissed you
Walked forward with you
and wondered
is this the right moment?
Are we meant for each other?
Despite a heavy load
on all sides
and no financial stability
I have gone forward
trying to be there
when I could be
and letting go
when I could not
I've tried to understand
our best sides
trying to be there
with what works
At one moment
of many such ponderings
I prayed in my heart
to know
and decided, yes, to continue
dating you, courting you
and the answer I got
was clear
a warmth in my heart
so in my pausing
I have held onto you
Kissed you
Walked forward with you
